THE TAX ADMINISTRATION AND THE COMMISSION FOR THE PREVNTION OF CONFLICT OF INTERESTS ORGANIZED THE LECTURE


The lecture on the theme Implementation of the new Law on prevention of conflict of interests and Receiving and reporting gifts was organized today (29.01.2010) by the Tax Administration and the Commission for the prevention of conflict of interests.

The lecture, held at the premises of the Tax Administration, that was attended by 20 officials- heads of Branch Offices Podgorica, Nikšić, Budva and Bar, was opened by the Director, Ms. Mirjana Pešalj.

LECTURE ON THE THEME: ANTI-CORRUPTIVE EFFORTS WITH THE EMPHASIS ON THE PREVENTION ORGANIZED IN BAR


Today (28.01.2010) in Bar the Tax Administration and the Agency for anti-corruptive initiative organized the lecture on the theme Anti-corruptive efforts with emphasis on the prevention.
The lecture was held at the premises of the House of the Municipality Bar and it was attended by 20 officials of the Branch office Bar.

REQUESTS FOR VAT REFUND OF OVER 11,4 MILLION DURING DECEMBER


During DECEMBER 2009 92 requests for VAT refund and redirection of funds from tax credit for paying tax liabilities were submitted to the Tax Administration.
The Tax Administration, with the aim of determining well foundedness of the requests for refund, accomplished necessary inspections and audits, followed by relevant resolutions.

The Number of Delinquent Returns in Constant Decrease

In line with the Agenda and precisely planned activities, the Tax Administration, apart from regular monthly collection tasks, carries out also the collection of the tax overdue.
During NOVEMBER 2009 the Tax Administration gained income in the amount of over 6.9 million for the State Budget, in the name of "delinquency debt".
It is to be highlighted that, in the last quarter of 2004, due to the large number of delinquent tax payers, the Tax Administration was forced to carry out intensive activities with the aim of decreasing it. Enhanced measures of compulsory collection of taxes were taken in all branch offices for that purpose, in order to reduce the tax payers' overdue.

TAX AUDITORS ACCOMPLISHED 1119 AUDITS AND CHECKINGS DURING DECEMBER

In this reporting period, the Department for supervision of tax regulations implementation, audits and administrative procedure successfully carried out activities from its authority and continued with the activities designated by the Action and Operative Plans for the control of tourist season 2009. Additionally, activities on prevention of grey economy were carried out intensively, in line with Conclusions of the Coordination Authority of the Government of Montenegro.
The selection of tax payers to be audited was carried out, on the base of submitted returns. Special attention was paid to the supervision of achieved effects from the previous month, as tax payers were obliged to eliminate irregularities assessed during the audit.
In the reporting period 1119 audits and checkings of tax payers were carried out.

TAX ADMINISTRATION SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED THE TAX OVERDUE

In line with the Agenda for precisely planned activities, Tax Administration, apart from regular monthly collection tasks, also carries out collection of tax overdue.
During DECEMBER 2009 Tax Administration gained income in the amount of 10.127.760,00 to the State Budget, in the name of "delinquency debt".

REQUESTS FOR VAT REFUND OF OVER 5,3 MILLION DURING NOVEMBER

During NOVEMBER 2009 90 requests for VAT refund and redirection of funds from tax credit for paying tax liabilities were submitted to the Tax Administration.
The Tax Administration, with the aim of determining well foundedness of the requests for refund, accomplished necessary inspections and audits, followed by relevant resolutions.
The total amount of the shown VAT credit based on requests for refund 5.327.732,91, 4.021.676.07 out of what being the refund to tax payers, while 1.306.056,84 being intended for redirection for payment of other tax liabilities.

THE TAX ADMINISTRATION SIGNED THE AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION WITH THE COMMISSION FOR THE PREVENTION OF CONFLICT OF INTERESTS


The Agreement on cooperation between the Tax administration and the Commission for the prevention of conflict of interests was signed today, on December 24rd 2009, in Podgorica.
The agreement was signed by the Director of the Tax administration, Ms Mirjana Pešalj, and the President of the Commission for the prevention of conflict of interests, Mr Slobodan Leković, who used this occasion to point out that that this agreement was the first one the Commission signed with any state authority or institution.

It is to be highlighted that, in the last quarter of 2004, due to the large number of delinquent tax payers, the Tax Administration was forced to carry out intensive activities with the aim of decreasing it. Enhanced measures of compulsory collection of taxes were taken in all branch offices for that purpose, in order to reduce the tax payers' overdue.

TAX ADMINISTRATION WORK PLAN FOR 2010 PRESENTED DURING THE MANAGEMENT TEAM BOARD


The meeting of the Tax Administration Management Board was held today, on December 18th 2009.
The session, apart from Deputy Directors, that are heads of Departments, and heads of units and offices, was attended by heads of Branch offices. The chairman of the session was the Tax Administration Director, Ms Mirjana Pešalj, who after opening the meeting, nominated the Tax Administration Work Plan for 2010 as the only item of the agenda.
