REQUESTS FOR VAT REFUND OF OVER 11,1 MILLION € DURING MARCH

During March 2010 91 requests for VAT refund and redirection of funds from tax credit for paying tax liabilities were submitted to the Tax Administration. The Tax Administration, with the aim of determining well foundedness of the requests for refund, accomplished necessary inspections and audits, followed by relevant resolutions. The total amount of the shown VAT credit based on requests for refund is 11.110.032,76€, 1.265.273,13€ out of what being the refund to tax payers, while 9.844.759,63€ being intended for redirection for payment of other tax liabilities.

PRESS RELEASE: UNIFIED REGISTRATION AND COLLECTION OF TAXES AND CONTRIBUTIONS


Today, on March 1st 2010, a press release was organized at the Tax Administration of Montenegro concerning the Project of unified registration and collection of taxes and contributions. It was attended by the Direcor of the Tax Administration, Ms. Mirjana Pešalj, Deputy Director of the IT Department, Ms. Radmila Radunović, Senior adviser from the Department for taxpayer services, Mr. Ivan Komatina, Coordinator of the Project from the Ministry of finance, Mr. Darko Martinović, President of the Interdepartmental group, Ms. Tanja Bošković and a representative of the World Bank, Mr. Dražen Medojević.

LECTURE ON THE THEME CHANGES IN TAX REGULATIONS


The Tax Administration organized a lecture on the theme Changes in tax regulations today (February 2nd 2010).
The lecture, attended by 40 officials of Branch Offices Podgorica, Nikšić, Bar, Herceg Novi, Budva, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja and Berane was organized in the form of two workshops. The first group of officials was greeted by the Director Ms. Mirjana Pešalj, while the second workshop was opened by the Deputy Director from the Audit Department, Mr. Srđan Kalezić.
The lecturer on both workshop was the Chief Tax Auditor Mr. Novo Radović

REQUESTS FOR VAT REFUND OF OVER 5,62 MILLION DURING JANUARY

During JANUARY 2010 96 requests for VAT refund and redirection of funds from tax credit for paying tax liabilities were submitted to the Tax Administration.
The Tax Administration, with the aim of determining well foundedness of the requests for refund, accomplished necessary inspections and audits, followed by relevant resolutions.
The total amount of the shown VAT credit based on requests for refund 5.629.035,14, 3.678.883,67 out of what being the refund to tax payers, while 1.950.151,47 being intended for redirection for payment of other tax liabilities.

The Number of Delinquent Returns in Constant Decrease


In line with the Agenda and precisely planned activities, the Tax Administration, apart from regular monthly collection tasks, carries out also the collection of the tax overdue.
During DECEMBER 2009 the Tax Administration gained income in the amount of over 10,0 million for the State Budget, in the name of "delinquency debt".
It is to be highlighted that, in the last quarter of 2004, due to the large number of delinquent tax payers, the Tax Administration was forced to carry out intensive activities with the aim of decreasing it. Enhanced measures of compulsory collection of taxes were taken in all branch offices for that purpose, in order to reduce the tax payers' overdue.

LECTURE ON THE THEME: ANTI-CORRUPTIVE EFFORTS WITH THE EMPHASIS ON THE PREVENTION ORGANIZED IN HERCEG NOVI

Today (19.02.2010) the Tax Administration and the Agency for anti-corruption initiative organized the lecture on the theme Anti-corruptive efforts with emphasis on the prevention in Herceg Novi.
The lecture was held at the premises of the Institute Dr. Simo Milošević and it was attended by 20 officials of the Branch office Herceg Novi.
This lecture was one in a series of activities that the Tax Administration is carrying out actively and transparently within its regular tasks, and one of the ways for continuation of the previous successful cooperation of these two institutions.

Training for the Tax Administration officials in the field of registration of the insured at the PIO and Health Fund


According to the Plan on implementation of the Project: Unified registration and reporting system of clearance and payment of taxes and contributions, it is envisaged that the registration of the insured at the PIO nad Health Fund should begin on March 1th 2010, by submission of the unified return for the registration of taxpayers, payers of contributions and the insured (JPR) at competent branch offices of the Tax Administration.
The principle One return- one counter is promoted by the application of the unified return upon the registration of taxpayers.
Former separate registrations of taxpayers and the insured for pension and disability and health insurance at several authorities, by filling in large number of forms, will be integrated into the registration on all aforesaid grounds via JPR at one place

TAX AUDITORS ACCOMPLISHED 839 AUDITS AND CHECKINGS DURING JANUARY

Tax Administration in its Work Plan for 2009 among other issues also designated directives for carrying out monthly audits. The main purpose of the adoption of the Annual Work Plan of audits is the rational and economical conducting of tax authority sources, with the aim of achieving as good results as possible.
During JANUARY 2009 tax auditors were engaged in audits and collection of taxes and other public revenues, as well as in audits and collection of tax overdue.
In this reporting period, the Department for supervision of tax regulations implementation, audits and administrative procedure successfully carried out activities from its authority and continued with the activities designated by the Action and Operative Plans for the control of tourist season 2008/2009. Additionally, activities on prevention of grey economy were carried out intensively, in line with Conclusions of the Coordination Authority of the Government of Montenegro

During JANUARY 2010 the Tax Administration gained income in the amount of 6.914.500,00 for the State Budget, in the name of "delinquency debt".
