Presentation of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes was organized today for officers of the Ministry of Finance and Tax Administrazion.

The presentation was held by representatives of the Global Forum tax policy advisors Mr Hakim Hamadi and Ms Mathilde Sabouret, with the aim of sharing the general information about the scope of the Global Forum work and its purpose, international standards for automatic exchange of information and requirements to be fulfilled by Montenegro in line with the OECD standards of tax transparency.

The Global forum now has 157 members and represents a leading international body in charge of ensuring implementation of the internationally agreed standards of transparency and exchange of information in the tax area.
Montenegro joined the Global Forum in 2018, within its commitments taken in the EU integration negotiation process, with the aim of adopting international standards in the field of taxation and tax transparency. Apart form the Global Forum membership, Montenegro has also committed to the implementation of measures for sanctioning tax avoidance strategies, base erosion and profit shifting (anti-BEPS measures), as well as to ratifying the Convention on Mutual Administrative Cooperation (MAC Convention).
