A World Bank team, led by Mr. David Nummy, Senior expert for public finance, including Mr. Zachary Mills, Ms. Stella Ilieva and Mr Wayatt Grant, visited the Tax Administration of Montenegro from 25 August to 2 September 2014.

The objective of the mission was to analyze the Tax Administration needs for further support, in line with the agreement reached between the Government of Montenegro and World Bank on financing of the implementation of a proposed Revenue Administration Modernization Project.

During the mission the WB experts had meetings with the Tax Administration Director General, PhD Milan Lakićević, as well as with heads and stuff of all HQ units.

As the WB support has been directed towards Tax Administration modernization by introducing new information technologies and further process automation, the Team also met Mr. Vujica Lazović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Society Development and Telecommunications, that monitors the development of all state authorities in this field. The experts had discussions with representatives of the Unit for technical support of the Ministry of Finance, being in charge of project planning and international cooperation for the Ministry itself and other authorities within it.

The WB team mission represents a step forward in the traditionally successful cooperation between the Tax Administration and World Bank, and the implementation of the proposed project would contribute to improvement of this authority, together with continuous efforts that Tax Administration makes itself, using internal budget resources.
